Ephesians 3:17

So I decided to join the blogger world. Mainly because I think it will be fun to jot down some of my randomness. I have been told that I am very much a thinker so maybe it will be good to get some of those thoughts out. And I am hoping it will be a reminder of what the Lord has and is teaching me throughout this gift of life he has blessed me with.

"Thank God for every breath because he is in control and chooses to give it to you. Let each breath be a reminder that the God of the universe loves you personally and has a plan for you!" ~Francis Chan

I have been praying that the Lord would teach me how to hear his voice and open my eyes to his presence all around me. Well, he is Ishmael-God hears!
We have all heard the phrase that God speaks in mysterious ways right? How beautiful when we experience the God of the universe speaking to us personally! I went for a run one day, praying in expectation the entire time that he would awaken my soul with his voice and presence in my life. I remember thinking I am not going to stop running until I hear from God. Of course I was talking the whole time so that makes it kind of difficult to listen. When I couldn't run any more I walked inside a gas station for a drink. Standing in line, I remember being somewhat frustrated that I had not heard from the Lord like I desired to. Anyone understand what I'm talking about?! Then I noticed that the lady in front of me was wearing a t-shirt with my name at the top of it. Underneath my name was a picture of two doves holding a heart with Ephesians 3:17 written beneath it. I couldn't wait to get home and open God's word to see what he had for me.

17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses all knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:17-21

Wow. I am rooted in the love of God that is lavished upon me in more ways than I will ever comprehend. May my roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love so I have the power to understand the life changing love of Christ. ROOTED in his love and REACHING for him daily so he  may be more and more at home in my heart as I learn to trust in him. "Lord, fill my cup so that anything anyone else has to offer will be an overflow of an already filled cup!" ~Beth Moore. By the grace of God may his love overflow out of me into a world hungry for a love that will never fail them, leave them, or cause them pain. A love that we literally cannot live without.
Africa trees...LOVE them. Do you see it? How small we are and how big God is. As we abide in his love he provides rest and peace under the shadow of those big God arms! To him be the glory!
