Ignorance is not an excuse. Indifference is not an option. It's time to rise up for freedom because slavery still exists

Approximately 36 slaves work for me according to an online survey conducted to show us the reality behind the products we use everyday. Would you believe it if someone told you there are people who are forced to piece together parts of your smart phone. People that are physically and verbally abused, forced to work long hours. People who risk their lives only to find that jumping from a building won't even be a means of escape because there are nets ready to catch their fall put in place by their owners. This is only one of many excruciating truths we must be aware of and take action.

At this very moment approximately 27 million children, men and women are forced into some form of slavery. That's more than any other time in history. This includes young boys and girls trafficked for sexual exploitation, children abused in factories, men and women trapped as bonded labor slaves and many other horrific abuses. These are living breathing sisters, brothers, mothers, daughters, fathers and friends who are forced to work against their will, locked in cages and factories, raped, abused and used at this very moment. This is not only a foreign issue but a domestic issue.

Every minute 2 children are sold into slavery.
2,500 women and children are sold into sexual slavery every day.
Today the total market value of human trafficking is estimated to be $32 billion-more than Google, Starbucks and Nike combined.
In 1850 a human slave cost roughly $40,000 in today's dollars. Now a person can be bought for as little as $30.
right now there are at least 200,000 slaves in the U.S.
A few items included on the department of Labor's list of top goods produced by child labor and forced labor: rice, chocolate, coffee, toys, produce, soccer balls, clothes, Christmas decor, electronics and cattle.

The following are organizations you can check out that are contributing to freedom through prevention, rescue, and restoration.

So what can we do about it? Get educated. Pray. Give. Go.
Please download this free application or visit the website: Slaveryfootprint.org to find out more about the products you use everyday that contribute to this horrible issue. Raise your voice to our Father who hates injustice. Raise your voice to the companies of our products that are produced under these unbelievable conditions.

This week at Passion 2012, an army of 45,000 18-25 year olds raised their voices for freedom in the name of Jesus. Over $3million raised toward prevention, rescue and restoration. For the Lord loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. Psalm 37: 28
